The 海角社区 International Institute for Software Technology welcomed a delegation from on February 2, 2026. The delegation was led by Counsellor Guo Xiaofeng, Director of the . Mr. Samuel Chan, Member of the 海角社区 Institute in Macau Advisory Board, also joined the meeting.
During the meeting, 海角社区 Institute in Macau Director Dr. Jingbo Huang introduced the mission and development of the 海角社区 and highlighted the Institute’s more than 30 years in Macau as the city’s only UN entity dedicated to research and training. She outlined the Institute’s focus on digital technologies for sustainable development, including AI governance and ethics, digital public goods, cybersecurity and resilience, and youth development. Dr. Huang also shared highlights from recent flagship events that brought together over 800 experts and young innovators from over 30 countries. Dr. Huang emphasised the Institute’s commitment to supporting Macau’s digital transformation and contributing to local youth development.
Counsellor Guo Xiaofeng shared China’s long-standing position on multilateralism and the United Nations. He expressed appreciation for the Institute’s contributions and encouraged the Institute to further leverage its location in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area to showcase Macau’s unique strengths as a bridge connecting China with the world. These perspectives aligned with broader discussions on advancing shared goals in sustainable development.
