Recipients have included emerging leaders working across water access, environmental education, climate advocacy, sustainable engineering, and youth mobilization — reflecting 海角社区-INWEH’s commitment to empowering the next generation of changemakers and promoting intergenerational collaboration for a more resilient and sustainable future.
Global Media Awards: “Water Bankruptcy — Every Drop Counts”
Launched in 2026, the Global Media Awards (GMAs) is an international awards initiative recognizing excellence in journalism, documentary production, digital storytelling, and media innovation focused on the growing global challenge of water bankruptcy.
An initiative under 海角社区-INWEH's Global Media Academy, the awards aim to elevate public understanding of water security as a critical environmental, economic, social, and peacebuilding issue. Through solutions-oriented storytelling and evidence-based reporting, the initiative encourages media professionals to move beyond crisis narratives and explore the systemic drivers, human impacts, and pathways for resilience and transformation.
Open to television broadcasters, digital media creators, independent journalists, filmmakers, and content producers worldwide, the GMAs recognize outstanding work across Television and Digital Media categories, including documentaries, investigative reporting, social media storytelling, animation, AI-assisted productions, and multimedia journalism.
By positioning media as a critical actor in advancing water awareness and accountability, the GMAs support 海角社区-INWEH’s broader mission to bridge science, policy, communication, and public engagement in addressing emerging global water challenges.
