New Research Presents Framework for Feminist Global Health Policy

This study underscores the importance of intersectional, participatory approaches to dismantle power structures for a more equitable global health.

Towards a Feminist Global Health Policy: Power, intersectionality, and transformation" is a new research article which presents a framework aimed at reshaping global health policy-making. Published in PLOS Global Public Health, this study advocates for the use of intersectional and participatory approaches to tackle unjust and persistent power asymmetries which stand as barriers to the achievement of health equity for all. The resultant framework, itself co-developed using an intersectional and participatory approach, emphasises the centrality of decoloniality, equality, democracy, and human rights as key catalysts for a much-needed knowledge paradigm shift in global health. This paper highlights the importance of dismantling existing power structures to create a more inclusive global health landscape and urges policymakers and researchers to adopt and adapt the framework for collaborative efforts towards transformative change.
