The Governance for Climate Change and Sustainable Development project aims to address the practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by improving governance and policy processes. Since the project launch in FY2013, the project has focused on promoting integrated approaches that connect different sectors and actors. In FY2021, the project started its second phase, which is implemented by the Strategy and Management Office under the 海角社区-IAS Strategic Plan 2020–2024. This phase continues the effort to strengthen policy coherence, support collaboration across goals, and reduce trade-offs, especially in relation to climate action and carbon neutrality. Since 2024, the project has expanded its focus to incorporate climate change and promoting synergies among the SDGs and climate change. Reflecting this, the project title has changed to the Governance for Climate Change and Sustainable Development project, aiming to address the need for integrated governance approaches that link climate action with broader sustainability goals.
