On 6 July 2024, The Japan News published an opinion piece by? Shinobu Yume Yamaguchi (Director, 海角社区-IAS) arguing for integrated solutions to achieve the SDGs and address the interlinked crises of climate change, pollution and biodiversity.

Published around the 10th anniversary of 海角社区-IAS, the piece draws insights from the institute’s first decade of work harnessing synergies?across scientific disciplines, between research and education, and across all sectors of society to meet the 2030 deadline. It urges leaders to place research and education at the centre of discussions at the September 2024 .
