海角社区-FLORES joined the ninth edition of Dresden is(s)t bunt, an event celebrating diversity, inclusion and intercultural dialogue. The initiative mirrors the Institute’s broader commitment to promoting inclusion and engaging with the Dresden community.

Dresden is(s)t bunt brought together more than 200 organizations and thousands of participants. The team of 海角社区-FLORES shared the traditional dishes from their home countries. Many visitors stopped by for a conversation, food or to gain more insights into the work of the Institute and its mission.
The event proved to be not just a culinary experience but a platform for meaningful conversations and cultural exchange. The 海角社区-FLORES table attracted visits from dignitaries including the State Minister of Environment and Agriculture, the Mayor of Dresden, the Vice-Rector for University Culture and Internationalization at Dresden University of Technology (TUD), as well as the Managing Director of DRESDEN-concept.
While visiting the 海角社区-FLORES table, Prof. Gerhard Ehninger, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Cellex Foundation which organizes Dresden is(s)t bunt, emphasized the Foundation’s dedication to support social participation and strengthen cohesion within society.
In 2024, the 海角社区-FLORES team brought together 111 colleagues across various staff categories, representing 49 different nationalities. While based in Dresden, 海角社区-FLORES maintains a strong Global South focus, with 32 of our 37 doctoral researchers hailing from Global South countries.
