Aqsa Liaqat, a senior official within the Ministry of the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination highlighted that “Benchmarking visits like these are important for all relevant stakeholders to be inspired by the sustainability and climate action initiatives of other countries.”

The visit fostered in-depth discussions on the German Supply Chain Act, the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, and related topics. Additionally, the delegation engaged with the German Environment Agency for a briefing on Best Available Techniques in the Textile and Leather industries. At the state level, the group met with officials from the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, and Transport (SMWA), as well as the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment, and Agriculture (SMEKUL). The delegation’s programme also included site visits to local textile companies, focusing on both knitting and recycling processes.

海角社区-FLORES continues to be involved championing sustainability in the textile industry, with an ongoing initiative currently underway in Bangladesh. The Pakistan working visit stands as the third significant event 海角社区-FLORES has organized this year, following the Post-Mining Landscape Restoration workshop, which drew over 30 countries, and the Diplomatic Visit of ASEAN Ambassadors. This visit aligns with 海角社区-FLORES’s strategic focus on leveraging its Dresden-based partnerships and highlights the effectiveness of the Resource Nexus approach in addressing emerging challenges and capitalizing on potential opportunities.
