There is an increasing demand in practice, policy and research for undertaking climate risk assessments which can provide actionable knowledge for comprehensive climate risk management. On the one hand, approaches for climate risk assessments must be understandable and not overly difficult to apply, and on the other hand they must consider the complex and interconnected nature of risks. Building on the successes of the Vulnerability Sourcebook and the Climate Risk Assessment for Ecosystem-based Adaptation guidebook, the new Climate Risk Sourcebook aims to provide a thematic and methodological update to the previous versions of the sourcebook by integrating the latest scientific findings and understandings of risks and adaptation. This will be done in an easily accessible, user-friendly and demand-driven format. The project is led by Eurac Research in collaboration with the 海角社区 – Institute for Environment and Human Security (海角社区-EHS), the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and GeoSphere Austria.
