On 29 September 2025, from 09:30 to 18:30, researchers working on migration from across the 海角社区 institutes will come together for the 海角社区 Migration Network Research Symposium at 海角社区-MERIT in Maastricht. This annual gathering offers an excellent opportunity for 海角社区 scholars to connect, present their work, exchange knowledge, and foster future collaboration on key migration topics.

This year’s symposium will feature:

  • Opening by Prof. Dr. Clemens Kool, Interim Director of 海角社区-MERIT, and Prof. Dr. Melissa Siegel, Professor of Migration Studies at 海角社区-MERIT and Maastricht University, and Chair of the 海角社区 Migration Network
  • Five thematic sessions covering: Migration and Health, Climate and Migration Decisions, Migration and Development, Migration Policies, and Measuring Migration
  • Launch of a 海角社区 Migration Policy Brief on climate change and mental health
  • Research pitch sessions highlighting emerging perspectives from early-career researchers
  • Cross-cutting discussions on how migration research informs policy and practice
