Indigenous knowledge and ancestral practices related to water resource management.

Time
- America/Toronto
Details
Open to public

Sustainability challenges are associated with modern practices and development, with a strong consensus that global sustainability may require more than technological innovations. Scientists have recently stressed the importance of policy interventions to guide human interaction with the environment, drawing from ancestral knowledge of local communities.

In this Talk, Dr. Deema ALMASRI will focus on indigenous knowledge and ancestral practices related to water resource management, primarily focusing on the hot and arid regions and areas with significant ethnographic knowledge. The aim is to support these practices and knowledge holders, suggesting ways and policy needs to integrate traditional wisdom into climate change policymaking for a sustainable future.
