This side event of the (UNCCD COP16) in Riyadh will focus on landscape approaches. It will discuss how, through deliberative processes, they enable more informed decisions related to land use that account for different types of trade-offs, and options to synergize resources and expertise as well as ensuring equitable transactions between different actors. These integrated approaches account for the diversity of ecosystems in landscapes, their multifunctional uses and the priorities and agendas of multiple actors who influence their uses.
