On 21 December 2022, Houseng Lee, Chair of the (IPCC), visited 海角社区-IAS to discuss the latest science knowledge on climate change and sustainable development, and the role of 海角社区-IAS in enhancing the evidence base at the global level.
During the meeting, Shinobu Yume Yamaguchi (Director, 海角社区-IAS) reported on the significant role of the IPCC assessment reports in the education sector. Akio Takemoto (Programme Head, 海角社区-IAS) and Maheshti Okitasari (Consultant, 海角社区-IAS) outlined 海角社区-IAS contributions to advancing the knowledge on synergies between climate action and the SDGs. They highlighted 海角社区-IAS capacity building and education programmes, including the new postgraduate degree specialisation on the Paris Agreement to be launched in 2023.
