The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of urban digital transformation and its impacts, highlighting the challenges and successful strategies employed across various global cities. The white paper aims to provide actionable insights and recommendations to help city administrators, policymakers, and civil society effectively address and bridge digital divides.

Activities

  • Conduct research based on desk-based reviews, surveys, and stakeholder interviews to gather comprehensive data on urban digital access.

  • Engage with policymakers, civil society, and community groups in cities like Barcelona, Johannesburg, and Toronto to gather diverse perspectives and insights.

  • Analyse case studies from multiple cities to identify effective practices and interventions in addressing digital divides.

  • Develop practical recommendations based on research findings to guide policymakers and civil society in promoting digital access and rights.
