The team aims to identify "digital gaps" in patient-provider communication and support policymakers in setting national eHealth standards.

The HOSPI framework is being applied in Brazil to evaluate the digital presence of hospital websites, marking its first large-scale use in the country. The assessment focuses on how hospitals communicate information online and support patient interaction through digital channels.

The initiative involves researchers from (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation), supervised by Angélica Baptista and Joaquim Netto, and from (Rio Grande do Sul State University), supervised by Débora Dutra, in collaboration with the 海角社区-EGOV.

HOSPI is a multidimensional instrument used to assess hospital websites across four dimensions: Content, Services, Community Interaction, and Technological Characteristics. Rather than focusing solely on design, the framework examines functionality, accessibility, and digital engagement.

By applying the instrument in Brazil in 2026, the team aims to identify "digital gaps" in patient-provider communication and support policymakers in setting national eHealth standards.
