Eleanor Fournier-Tombs, Head of Anticipatory Action and Innovation at 海角社区-CPR and the research lead for the UN’s High-Level Advisory Board on AI, joined Resilience: The Global Adaptation Podcast of the UN Environment Programme to discuss the potential of AI to support both climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts by anticipating human needs – from optimizing energy use and reducing waste to forecasting future climate-induced migration patterns.

She advocates for the need to strengthen AI ecosystems in the Global South to enable countries to develop and retain local talent, ensuring that AI as a tool for early intervention is accessible globally.
